The Arrival
Our little home from home. Dyfina Bach, near Llanfair PG
I was up at around 07:30; I put the kettle on for a coffee, then went and took some of my gear to my car and got my sat-nav from my car to check for any new updates, all up to date.

Susie asked me to wake her at 08:30, but I didn’t need to wake her as she came down by 08:15. While Susie made me breakfast I went for a shower and got my last few things together.

I left home at around 09:40, I was expecting delays on the M62/M60 around Manchester, but today the traffic was running freely.

I stopped at Chester Services for a quick toilet break at around 11:15, we can’t go to the cottage until 13:00, and going by my sat-nav I would be there by around 12:00, so I decided to go and visit my friend Paul (Hitchcox), who lives in Towyn. I only stayed for about an hour, but had a good catch up and of course a cuppa! Just as I was leaving Paul’s, I noticed I had a message from Andy, saying he had arrived at the cottage.

I arrived at the cottage at around 14:00. I unloaded my car with the help of Andy; James had gone for a nap, as he hadn’t had a good night’s sleep. Once he woke up we all piled into my car and went to Tesco for supplies.

Andy cooked us a lovely meal of beef bourguignon, which was enjoyed by us all. After washing up, we watched the film Ender’s Game, which wasn’t bad. We then just chilled out and chatted. The night sky was clear of clouds and because there was no light pollution, there was a sky full of stars. Andy started to talk about how best to take photos of the night sky; I said I would not have a clue! We went back into the cottage, at which point Andy started to show me a different setting on my camera, which would help take night sky photos. I decided to give these setting a go, so Andy and I went back outside with our cameras, only to find clouds had obscured our view, all except some small clear patches. We persevered, and started to take some photos, using the different settings. I happened to look at the time, and it was around 00:30am, so we decided to call it a night, and went to bed.
